We
believe
choosing a sustainable living consultant can be
difficult, especially if you have nothing more than their website to go
by. So we have decided to give you a better idea of who we are, because we
believe that a transparent attitude is the best way to start and grow a
partnership, especially when it comes to advice on sustainable living. |
The Consultancy was recently founded by Janis Embury who has lived, built and renovated houses throughout Australia, from a remote tropical beach in the
Territory (the beach-house shown on the bottom left-hand side on the Home Page
banner), to inner Melbourne (renovating a Victorian timber cottage in Brunswick);
and living in a variety of climates including Darwin, Maroochydore,
Perth, Brisbane to Sydney's north-shore. In the late 1970s, Janis built a
mud-brick house in Trentham, Victoria, making 1,000
of the bricks and laying all 4,000 herself, along with such basics as
installing cold water plumbing to the water tank and digging the septic
drains in the snow!
Janis has thirty two years sustainable living experience
including organic vegie and fruit and nut growing experience, and
is a
qualified Science Writer/Researcher, BA(Journ) with Sciences which include
Environmental and Earth Sciences. These are the skills she uses to research
and discover new products and trends from Australia and overseas
and to remain up-to-date. In addition she has successfully completed
one-half of a Law Degree which includes to date, Consumer Law.
